
Michael Alexander Morris is an artist and educator based in Granville, Ohio. His work responds to the rapid changes in how moving images are created and experienced in the 21st century, affirming the traditional space of the cinema while also exploring the implications of new media. Morris has performed and screened his films and videos at museums, galleries, microcinemas, and film festivals internationally, including the San Francisco Cinematheque's Crossroads festival, The Ann Arbor Film Festival, The International Symposium of Electronic Art, The Dallas Museum of Art, Microscope Gallery, Millennium Film Workshop, and Artist's Television Access.
He has received awards from festivals including Ann Arbor Film Festival, Athens International Film and Video Festival, and Haverhill Film Festival and he received the Dallas Observer's Mastermind Award. He has been invited to residencies including Signal Culture, Visual Studies Workshop, and Mudhouse. He is on the programming committee of Oak Cliff Film Festival, curating experimental shorts and feature films.​
